Join us for a short business meeting, followed by Judy Nimer Muhn’s presentation, Researching in Canada: Your Maple Leaf Connection!
Both Anglophone and Francophone are rich with information of the settlement of North America, resulting in the country now called Canada. The settlements of the French and English date from 1604 and reflect the history of these populations also in Europe. Learn about how to connect across the border and the records that can help you!
Judy has been researching her family tree from the age of 12, specializing in French-Canadian, Acadian, Native American and Michigan research because of her own family heritage. Owner of Lineage Journeys, she conducts research for clients and offers presentations across the US, Canada and internationally. She also travels to research in archives/repositories and the locations of her ancestral homes in Scotland, France, Germany and around the US.
Judy is also the President of the Oakland County Genealogical Society, Vice-President and Social Media committee member and blogger for the Michigan Genealogical Council, board member and Awards Chair of the National Genealogical Society, Secretary of the GeneaBloggers, and a member of many other societies.
