Join us for a short business meeting, followed by a presentation by Ariana Franco

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:  This is an intermediate class discussing a range of immigration records. We will review influential naturalization laws, what types are records are available for genealogical research beyond ship manifests and naturalization, and how to get records you cannot find online.

Speaker Bio: Ariana Franco is a professional genealogist located in Miami, Florida specializing in Southern Italian research, U.S. naturalization records, New England and Mid-West localities. She began her research in 2020 and has completed programs with Boston University (OL37), GenProof, ProGen, GRIP, IGHR, SLIG and Gen-Fed. Her work applies the Genealogical Proof Standard and focuses on the legal impact of citizenship and immigration. Most of her research endeavors are like “untangling a bowl of spaghetti.” She has presented for organizations including the Utah Genealogical Association and the Italian Genealogical Group. With a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design, Ariana brings a creative lens to storytelling in research.
