AGS 50th Anniversary!
The public is invited to join with us in what Mayor Keller has declared as Family History Day on Saturday, 7 May 2022, from 10:30 am to 3 pm at the Albuquerque Main Library, 5th and Copper Ave., to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Albuquerque Genealogical Society.
As part of the celebration, the Society will provide:
- A 50th Anniversary Retrospective panel discussion, from 10:30 to 11:30 in the auditorium
- A slide show, from noon to 3:00 in the auditorium
- Displays presented by special interest groups and lineage organizations,* from noon to 3:00 in the community room
- Tours of the Genealogy Center on the 2nd floor of the Library, at 12:45, 1:45, and 2:45
- Sales of three Golden Anniversary Series books: Stories of Early Albuquerque: As told in the AGS Quarterly; AGS’s First Fifty Years: A Retrospective (1972 – 2022); AGS Military Heritage: Service to our Country by Members, Ancestors and Family
- Sales of 50th Anniversary memorial coffee mugs and stylus pens
- Door prizes!

A note about parking
In addition to metered street parking, up to two hours of free parking is available at the Very Special Arts parking garage on the southeast corner of 5th and Copper. Bring your parking stub from this garage to the Circulation desk for validation.
