ABCs of DNA
The ABCs of DNA is an ongoing series of in-depth presentations on various DNA topics, presented by well-known speakers as well as knowledgeable AGS members.
Program: How to Use DNA to Build Your Tree
Presenter: Philip Spivey
We often hear about DNA being a useful tool for building a family tree. However, many people get bogged down with science. AGS member Philip Spivey will do a presentation on How To Use DNA To Build Your Family Tree, but unlike most basic DNA presentations, the emphasis for this one will be on application rather than the science behind the DNA.
You don’t have to know what a hammer is made of to use it and the same can be said for DNA. So, if you have been put off by the science, or just want a refresher on putting DNA to work for you, join us on February 18th. Philip would like to encourage you to think about genealogical questions you have been wanting DNA to help you answer and bring those questions with you. He will address as many of them as we have time for. You may also submit them in advance by sending an email to Philip at DNAed@abqgen.org.
