SUMMARY:AGS Monthly Meeting and Program: Genealogical Estate Planning
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a short business meeting, followed by a presentation by Karen Jones.\nPROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Most of us genealogists have spent thousands of hours doing research and collecting records of past generations. How much time have we spent preparing to pass our treasures on to the coming generations? We, of all people, know the uncertainty of life. What can we do to ensure that our work will survive us? Karen Jones will share with us a step-by-step process for preparing our work to be distributed when we are gone.”\nPRESENTER: Karen Jones was born in Missouri of German, British, and Scots-Irish ancestry. She was trained in chemistry and education at the University of Missouri. Karen moved to NM with husband in 1969; raised three children as stay-home mom. She taught in UNM Continuing Education and worked as a professional organizer. Karen has been doing family research since 1982 and is family historian for three families, has written four short family histories. Karen has been a member of AGS since 2000; was program committee chairman for 13 years.  She loves to use family history study as an excuse for traveling. She has presented many AGS programs on historical background and organizing materials. Karen has also written a blog of 130 stories, called “Adventures with the Ancestors” and is in the process of publishing the blog as an e-book, perhaps leading to a book in print.\n\n\n\nThis event is currently scheduled as a HYBRID EVENT. Come join us in person at the Albuquerque Main Library, Genealogy Center on the 2nd floor (see LOCATION information on the right), or online (see link below to register).\nCLICK TO REGISTER\nAfter filling out the registration form, you will receive an email confirming your registration.
